An award winning theater and film director, Deborah’s recent feature film,WILD PRAIRIE ROSE, premiered at Geena Davis’ Bentonville Film Festival and has subsequently been playing in festivals across the country to sold out houses spilling into second and third screens and winning numerous prizes including: The James Stewart Legacy Award at the Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis, Sedona International Film Festival (Audience Award for Best Feature), Omaha National Film Festival, Black Hills FF (Best Feature), Sioux Empire Film Festival (Best Feature), La Femme International Festival, Cinema St. Louis-St. Louis Film Festival, Cinema Falls Cinematheque, and many others.

Deborah’s most recent work is the short film, UNINTENDED.  The film features Jeff Perry, a founding member of the Steppenwolf Theater Company and co-star of the television series, SCANDAL.

More recent film work includes: LOST MUSIC, a lyrical exploration of loss and memory featuring Barbara Bain and PRAIRIE SONATA, both screened country wide winning multiple festival awards

Theatrically, Deborah has directed over 300 professional productions across the United States for which she has received many prestigious awards including 4 Ovation awards, 16 Drama-Logue/Backstage West awards, and a NAACP Image Award citation among others.  Select Los Angeles productions include NAPOLI MILIONARA at the Road Theater (Ovation award winner Outstanding Director and Best Production), Bertolt Brecht’s THE RESISTIBLE RISE OF ARTURO UI at Theater Exchange, Deaf West Theater’s STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE (Ovation award Best Production), KINDERTRANSPORT starring Holland Taylor and Jane Kaczmarek at the Tiffany Theatre, DISTANT FIRES at International City Theater (NAACP Image Award Citation for Excellence), THE ACCOMPLICES at the Fountain Theater, and Edgemar Center for the Arts multi-award winning BLACK CAT CABARET.
